The role
As a Senior Consultant you will work both independently and as part of a team, delivering to a high standard. Your work will span engagements such as providing trusted security advisor to a large government agency on retainer, leading an ISO 27001 internal audit, or delivering a focused Certification and Accreditation (C&A) project including security risk assessment and control validation audit.
Our areas of specialisation are:
Information and cyber security governance, risk, and assurance.
Government C&A in line with the NZ Protective Security Requirements (PSR) and NZ Information Security Manual (NZISM).
Security leadership e.g. Virtual CISO and ITSM.
Risk assessment and management consulting.
Audit and assessment services.
ISO 27001 implementation, internal audit, and certification.
Development of security frameworks, policies, standards.
Security incident response preparedness and training.
We are also growing our AI governance and delivery practice. If you have interest or experience in that space, there is room to develop it here.
What we are looking for
Essential:
Familiar with NZ government security frameworks, particularly NZISM and the PSR — this is essential for our government-sector work.
Hands-on experience in two or more of our specialisation areas above.
Experience in professional services consulting. We will give strong preference to candidates with a consulting background.
A customer-focused, self-managing approach. You take pride in your work and deliver to time and budget.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills. You can lead customers and colleagues to the right outcomes.
Strong written communication skills. You can produce clear, well-structured reports and deliverables that meet client expectations.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. You can work through complex issues and reach well-reasoned conclusions.
An enthusiasm for learning and improving.
A team player who is easy to work with - this is an important part of our culture.
Advantageous:
A current NZ government security clearance (Confidential or above) or eligibility to obtain one.
Information or cyber security certifications such as ISC2 (CISSP), ISACA (CISM, CISA, CRISC), ISO27001 Lead Auditor, or similar postgraduate-level qualifications.
A background in IT, AI, non-security GRC, or a related technical discipline. Familiarity with core IT concepts, and cloud computing is expected.
