You will be working with the support and guidance of our Programme/Operations Manager, managing information security projects delivered by our awesome team of consultants. We are an established business with a great reputation and a focus on people and culture. We really care about you and your family. Here’s a little about the things that are important to us.
- A culture that values our people. We were finalists in the 2024 NZ Best Places to Work awards.
- We encourage you to get involved and to take on responsibility.

There is plenty of room to take ownership and to grow your skills. You’ll be supported by a strong leadership team and awesome peers.
The role:
As part of the project team, you’ll be ensuring projects come in on time to the agreed delivery schedule, to the assigned hours and budget and are delivered to the quality standards Axenic is known for. You’ll be working at the hub of our business; working closely alongside our leadership and consulting teams and externally with a wide range of customer stakeholders. In addition, you will be playing a key role in ensuring that our people are well supported though our people initiatives, as well as some of the broader aspects of running the business such as supplier management, travel etc. This means you will be growing your project and business skills, as well as getting involved in key parts of running our business beyond a standard PM role.
A typical day may see you:
- Setting up projects, working alongside the consulting team and the customer for timelines, booking workshops and making sure all documentation is on hand.
- Tracking project timelines, scope and budget, and clearing roadblocks. Participating in customer meetings, sprints and stand-ups.
- Managing customer expectations alongside our consulting team, producing reports and supporting the delivery team.
- Helping out with all the other activities that sit in our project space.
- Researching training and development options for our consulting team and planning social touchpoints to keep our team engaged.
- Managing the latest release plan of our automation tool.
What we are looking for:
The fit to our team and culture is as important as your experience, and you’ll be supported by your manager in areas requiring development.
- Prior experience as a Senior Project Co-ordinator / entry level Project Manager, preferably in a professional services environment.
- Some experience in working within project management frameworks and disciplines (including Agile).
- Experience in delivering project services requiring a strong focus on service and relationship management and engaging with different levels in an organisation (internal and external).
- Strong stakeholder management, planning and problem-solving skills.
- An understanding of the commercial aspects of project management such as managing project financials, aligning to commercial contracts, etc.
- The communication skills to communicate effectively across a range of personalities and role levels
- A strong orientation towards technology and an awareness of changing technology and tools.
- You will be self-managing and outcome driven, with the flexibility and adaptability to work across a portfolio of responsibilities.
- The interpersonal skills to work collaboratively as part of the team and be easy to work with. This is an important part of our culture.
- A willingness to learn and grow.
If you are looking for new challenges and to have the chance to grow your project career alongside one of the best teams in town, we would love to hear from you.
